If you are caught in a cycle of emotional eating that feels out of control, exhausting or just never quite right, you are not alone. And you are not failing. The chances are that the approaches you have tried were never designed to work with your body or your mind in the first place.
Coaching for emotional eating does not have to mean more rules, more restriction or more guilt. It can mean something entirely different: understanding why you eat the way you do and gently changing the pattern from the inside out.
I am Jo North, a Chartered Researching Psychologist, Fellow of the British Psychological Society and Senior Accredited Psychotherapist with over forty years of clinical experience. I offer 1:1 coaching for emotional eating, food anxiety and weight management, working with people who are ready to find a different way forward.
Together we use the RAFT framework: Right Amount, Right Food, Right Time, combined with Time Related Eating to gently rebuild your relationship with food, calm your nervous system and begin to address the metabolic and hormonal patterns that so often sit beneath emotional eating.
Who is coaching for emotional eating right for?
It does not matter where you are starting from. You might be dealing with insulin resistance or metabolic disorder. You might have lived with obesity for years and tried every diet going. You might be on GLP-1 medication and finding that the psychological relationship with food still needs attention. You might have had bariatric surgery and need support with what comes next. Or you might simply be exhausted by the constant noise of food anxiety and ready for it to stop.
Whatever your starting point, coaching for emotional eating with a qualified psychotherapist offers something that diet plans cannot: a space built on psychology, compassion and real change. There is no judgement here, only understanding.
