Keep Safe On The Foodsane Website and at our Meetings
Please always be respectful of difference in all members. We are all vulnerable to feeling like outsiders and need to feel accepted. Please be mindful of religious, racial, cultural, disabilities, agism, sexual orientation and body size differences.
Please refrain from foul language that may upset or unsettle some members.
Foodsane is for adults only.
Always email Foodsane if you have a concern and feel something has gone wrong. We are human and will make errors but we will put them right as soon as possible if you let us know. joanna@foodsane.co.uk
Please never give out your private contact details such as home address, email, phone numbers through the website unless of course you make a clear decision to be in touch with someone. If you do connect with others personally outside of Foodsane please be aware that you are responsible for the relationship you choose to engage with although we always hope they go well.
Switch off or disengage from anything that troubles you, causes anxiety or triggers you. Let us know if its something we need to look at. i.e trigger scenarios on blogs, training or podcasts. Contact your mental health support immediately if you are distressed.
Please remember that the Foodsane Website is a supportive community for communication, learning and inspiration – it is not a medical facility.
Foodsane is not direct psychotherapy although we do think about self-help tools.
Please seek medical advice if you feel you have an eating disorder. Although we support Time Related Eating as a useful way forward for wellbeing, we do not recommend starvation to anyone. You must not fast if you are pregnant or going through illness. It is also inadvisable to adopt extreme eating patterns if you are going through a period of adversity or are taking medication.
In a Mental Health Emergency in the United Kingdom please dial 999 or 111 or call the Samaritans on 116 123 if you are in the UK. If you are outside the UK please contact your emergency services or turn to someone close by to support you.
